Billy Melton Owner FLAT ROOF SPECIALIST Built-up Roof-  Built -up roof is a generic term for a roof system that is literally built by adding layers.  Built-up roofs are more commonly found on commercial buildings than homes, but they're well suited for homes with flat roofs.  They  are made from alternating layers of ply-4 fiberglass felt with application adhesive, or Type 3 or Type 4 asphalt.  Modified bitumen roofs consist of two or more layers of fiberglass felt with the modified mopped down. Our most popular roof is the traditional "Tar and Gravel" we install this roof with four layers of fiberglass felt, flood coat the surface with asphalt and install a 3/8 inch pebbled rock.  This roof really handles the Houston weather. Aluminum Reflective Roof Coatings-The advantages of adding metallic aluminum pigment to a flat or metal roof goes beyond cosmetics.  Over 70% of the suns rays are reflected.  This will preserve the life of the roof for many years.  The aluminum coating will also reduce the temperature by as much as 15-20 degrees F. Composition Roofs- All composition roof will be inspected to see if ply wood decking must be installed or if rotten decking needs to be replaced.  A #30 pound felt will be installed along with all new vents, lead jacks, valley metal and step flashing.  All shingles will be hand nailed to meet specs of manufacture. Standing Seam roofs have been growing in popularity in the last 25 years.  The ability to offer the homeowner a very durable puncture resistant roof and adding to architectural style have helped it the growing popularity.  The standing seam roof also offers 25 plus years of trouble-free performance with little or no maintenance time.
